Book Club: Anywhere But Here Discussion
Tuesday, April 3, 2012 • 6:00 – 7:30 pm

Mona Simpson’s Anywhere But Here is a moving first novel that is a heart-rendering tale of a mother and daughter's invaluable relationship. Please join Jenny Eskin for a discussion of this novel. We ask that you attend this workshop only if you have completed the book or have read a major portion of it. Reimbursements for the purchase of the book club book will be made for women who provide a receipt to Bottomless Closet. 

Financial Goals and Budgets
Thursday, April 12, 2012 • 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Tami Peter will help attendees develop short, medium, and long-term financial goals and plans for the year and build a budget to achieve them. Clients are asked to bring a copy of their recent bills (credit card, utilities, etc.) CORE

An Evening of Financial Mentoring
Thursday, April 19, 2012 • 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Tami Peter and a group of Financial Mentors will be at Bottomless Closet to provide one-on-one support with setting financial goals, understanding FICO scores and debt management. This event is open to clients already in the mentoring program or those who have participated in at least two Financial Management workshops and who are prepared to speak to a mentor about a specific financial challenge. Helen Rosen Singer of Women Teaching Women will give an overview of the advantages and responsibilities of business ownership. This class is a pre-requisite for the Starting a Small Business workshop series. ELECTIVE

Understanding the FICO Score and your Credit Report
Thursday, May 3, 2012 • 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Tami Peter will discuss the factors that make up a FICO Score and what really appears on a credit report. Clients must bring a copy of a recent FICO Score/credit reports. If you do not have a recent score (within the past 6 months) you can get your reports and scores at www.myfico.com. If you would like assistance getting your scores and reports you may make an appointment with Patrycja no later than Monday, April 30th. Bottomless Closet will reimburse the cost of the service if you submit a receipt to Patrycja Warda. CORE

Makeovers for Work

Debbie Block and her team of stylists will lead this workshop on pulling together a fabulous look on a budget. Priority registration will be provided for clients who have not previously attended a makeover session. 

Tell Me About Yourself: Perfecting your Elevator Speech
Wednesday, May 9, 2012 • 6:00 – 8:00 pm

This interactive workshop led by Andrea Greifenberger will teach all participants to answer the hardest interview and job fair question: “Tell me about yourself”. Everyone will have the opportunity to create a thoughtful response and practice with one another. This workshop is a pre-requisite for At a Job Fair. ELECTIVE

At a Job Fair

At a job fair the interaction with a potential employer can serve as a mini-interview. It requires just as much preparation, if not more, as a formal interview. The Young Leadership Council will facilitate this interactive workshop. All participants will have the opportunity to practice their job fair skills at a mock fair. Tell Me About Yourself: Perfecting Your Elevator Speech is a pre-requisite for this workshop. CORE

Tami Peter will lead this workshop on managing and reducing debt. She will discuss taking control of spending, becoming debt-free, understanding compound interest and using your budget. CORE
You’re Hired!...Now What?

Now that you have a job, how do you make sure that you do a good job? Sheila Lambert will lead this workshop on transitioning to a new job or position and gaining early success. She will discuss the key to making the transition, managing change, and getting off to a good start. (Priority will be made for clients who have been recently hired.) CORE

Since opening our doors in 1999, Bottomless Closet has offered educational workshops to address the challenges associated with searching for employment, entering the workforce and balancing the demands of work and home. We offer educational programming that is grouped into 3 areas: Professional Development, Financial Management and Personal Enrichment. The Program Curriculum incorporates a series of Core Workshops together with a variety of electives.

Workshops are offered over 3 trimesters throughout the year: January-March, April-June and September-November.
