Mission & Purpose
Founded in 1999, promotes self-sufficiency among economically
disadvantaged women in New York City.
Offers career, financial and personal development workshops.
Supports more than 1,000 women a year.
Partners with over 70 referral organizations that provide
work-readiness and skills building training to clients.
Bottomless Closet is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization.

Workshops
Workplace Skills workshops highlight those important skills
needed to succeed on the job, including time management, business
etiquette, business writing, and effective communication.
Career Development workshops cover the key stages of building
a career, from examining the tools for an effective job search to
developing a strategy for implementing a career plan.
Financial Management workshops help clients plan for financial
independence with topics ranging from basic money
management to investment planning.
Personal Development workshops address the ‘whole' person
with strategies and helpful suggestions on creating balance,
physically and emotionally, at work and at home.
Additional Career Development and Networking Programs
Career Days:
Introduced in 2002.
Opportunity for clients to visit employers, learn about
careers in fields they may not have previously considered,
and interact with professional women.
May include: interview preparation presentations, an employee
questions-and-answer session, mock interviews, job shadowing,
personal testimonies and/or inspirational speakers.
Computing for Success:
The program is designed to help our clients better understand
and use on-line resources, the Internet, and e-mail as tools for
both their job search and for on-the-job use.
The program offers four full-day sessions and five 2-hour evening
sessions repeated twice a year for participants from the day sessions.
Volunteerism
Hours
Volunteers provide over 350 hours of service every month.
Workshop leaders are professionals in their respective fields,
who generously share their experience and expertise.
