Become a Volunteer

Volunteers are critical to Bottomless Closet’s ability to connect women and work. We strive to provide our volunteers with meaningful opportunities that make a direct impact on our mission. Bottomless Closet customizes skills based projects for individuals as well as corporate groups.

How you can help

Clothing Consultation and Coaching

  • work one-on-one with clients
  • select work appropriate clothing from the boutique
  • conduct mock interviews and proactive presentation skills
  • review resumes and prepare clients for their interviews

Inventory Management

  • sort incoming clothing donations
  • select desirable professional attire
  • organize displays in the boutique
  • manage the storage space

Educational Curriculum

  • facilitate workshops on topics including Professional Development, Financial Management and Personal Enrichment

Professional Expertise

  • consult in the area of one’s expertise e.g. website design, graphic design, writing/editing for communications

Client Follow-Up

  • outreach to clients following their interviews to check on their employment status, invite them to workshops and schedule any necessary follow up appointments

Virtual Volunteer

  • create a 1-2 minute informal video of you telling a story about a meaningful workplace experience, offering a lesson, tip or general inspiration to serve as additional resources for clients during the job search process
  • post the videos on Youtube. Name your video “Bottomless Closet Put Experience to Work Challenge, your name” and link to us on Youtube

Corporate & Group Volunteering

Group Shadowing

  • participate in all aspects of volunteering including: clothing consultation, coaching and inventory management

Career Days

  • corporate partners host clients at their businesses to introduce women to various employment opportunities
  • events may include: interview preparation presentations, job shadowing, personal testimonies and motivational speakers

Inventory Projects

  • organize displays in the boutique
  • manage the storage space
  • create client gift bags
  • set up boutique for special client events

Interview Readiness Workshops

  • one-on-one resume review
  • conduct mock interviews

Corporate Giving

Bottomless Closet’s Emerging Leaders

Bottomless Closet Emerging Leaders is made up of volunteers who share a goal of raising awareness and funds to support Bottomless Closet. Emerging Leaders will:
  • will take part in one or more of four task forces: Membership, Corporate Partnerships, Fundraising, and Events
  • work one or more events throughout the year and bring a number of guests to events
