Client Experience
One of the pillars of Bottomless Closet is to ensure that all of our clients walk out our door feeling great about themselves and better prepared for their interviews. We are always looking to improve upon that experience and to provide services that are beneficial to our clients. Those of you who have worked with clients during the summer may have noticed that we are encouraging our clients to come back for additional services including resume upgrades or additional interview/job search coaching.
In order to streamline our processes and ensure all clients have the opportunity to sign up for additional services or workshops, we are revamping some formalities. This includes the addition of a “check-out” procedure for clients at the close of all appointments. If you work with clients please keep in mind the following:
· When you leave the client to complete the e-survey at the end of her appointment please give her the red clipboard and ask her to check out at the front desk once she has completed the survey.
· If the client encounters any technical difficulties while working on her survey, she is encouraged to get help from the front desk; Lakiesha will be happy to troubleshoot any computer issues.
Again please but sure to allow for privacy when your clients are completing the on-line survey. Once the client has checked-out at the front desk please feel free to wish your client good luck and practice the professional handshake one last time. |
Bottomless Closet Fall Sale: Volunteers Needed!
Bottomless Closet’s Annual Fall Sale is being held on Saturday, October 2, and we are looking for volunteers to help out! Volunteers are needed to fill the following time slots:
Pre-Sale Set Up
Friday, October 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Friday, October 1 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Day of Sale – assist clients, work the registers and clean up
Saturday, October 2 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Post-Sale – restock boutique and set up for client operations
Monday, October 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Change to Sign-In Sheets
Keep an eye out for a small change to the volunteer sign-in sheets. Starting Monday, September 20, the columns titled “Organizing Inventory” and “Organizing Boutique” will be merged into one column called “Organizing Inventory & Boutique.” Now you will only have to approximate how much time you spent organizing in general! Who’s not happy about a little less math?? |
Licensed Notary Public
Bottomless Closet is looking for a volunteer who is a Licensed Notary Public. We frequently need to have documents notarized and it would very helpful to us to be able to reach out to one of our volunteers for assistance. Please let me know if you would like to be on our list of resources. |

Communications Committee is looking for new members!
The Communications Committee is looking for a few good writers, photographers, thinkers and designers to join the team! The committee produces our newsletter, annual report and various other materials throughout the year.
If you are interested, please let me know by reply of this email so you can be included in upcoming meetings. |

Evening Workshop Support
During our evening workshops, we are in need of volunteers to sit at the front desk to check in clients, handle some light administrative tasks and close up shop at the end of the night. There will be a staff member on hand to answer your questions and provide any guidance you might need.

NEW! Due to the increase in client appointments, evening opportunities will now be available every Tuesday, rather than only on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month!

Tickets on Sale for Art under the Stars!!
Please save the date! The Young Leadership Council will host the Fifth Annual Art under the Stars at the Matthew Marks Gallery on Monday, October 4, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $75 in advance and $100 at the door. Tickets may be purchased through our website at www.bottomlessclosetnyc.org.
We are currently soliciting items for our silent auction and raffle. If you have items to contribute, please contact Gina Diaz at GDiaz@bottomlessclosetnyc.org for a donor form. Popular items have included theater and sports tickets, jewelry, handbags, wine, restaurant and spa certificates. Please note, the deadline for auction items to be in house is Thursday, September 23!! Your help in making the auction a success is appreciated! |
