Financial Goals and Budgets

Tami Peter will help attendees develop short, medium, and long-term financial goals and plans for the year and build a budget to achieve them. Clients are asked to bring a copy of their recent bills (credit card, utilities, etc.) CORE

You’re Hired!...Now What?
Thursday, January 12, 2012 • 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Now that you have a job, how do you make sure that you do a good job? Sheila Lambert will lead this workshop on transitioning to a new job or position and gaining early success. She will discuss the key to making the transition, managing change, and getting off to a good start. (Priority will be made for clients who have been recently hired.) CORE

An Evening of Financial Mentoring
Wednesday, January 18, 2012 • 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Tami Peter and a group of Financial Mentors will be at Bottomless Closet to provide one-on-one support with setting financial goals, understanding FICO scores and debt management. This event is open to clients who have participated in at least two Financial Management workshops and who are prepared to speak to a mentor about a specific financial challenge. Further information will be provided upon registration. ELECTIVE

Understanding the FICO Score and your Credit Report
Wednesday, February 1, 2012 • 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Tami Peter will discuss the factors that make up a FICO Score and what really appears on a credit report. Clients must bring a copy of a recent FICO Score/credit reports. If you do not have a recent score (within the past 6 months) you can get your reports and scores at www.myfico.com. If you would like assistance getting your scores and reports you may make an appointment with Patrycja no later than Monday, January 30th. Bottomless Closet will reimburse the cost of the service if you submit a receipt to Patrycja Warda. CORE

Your manager regularly curses in the office and your office-mate has a constantly ringing cell phone that is always on full volume. How does a person know what constitutes bad manners when everyone in the workplace seems to be misbehaving in some way? Sheila Lambert will discuss what is appropriate at work and how to set your own standards to help you excel in any job. CORE

Robin Caldwell will lead this workshop focusing on speaking to people one-on-one, sharing ideas/updates in meetings, making formal presentations, and presenting a positive demeanor and professional appearance. ELECTIVE

Pamela Krol will discuss the typical fringe benefits available in the workplace, specifically health insurance benefits.  She will also provide options for those individuals who do not receive any benefits in their jobs.  ELECTIVE

Since opening our doors in 1999, Bottomless Closet has offered educational workshops to address the challenges associated with searching for employment, entering the workforce and balancing the demands of work and home. We offer educational programming that is grouped into 3 areas: Professional Development, Financial Management and Personal Enrichment. The Program Curriculum incorporates a series of Core Workshops together with a variety of electives.

Workshops are offered over 3 trimesters throughout the year: January-March, April-June and September-November.
